About the Role

As part of our core engineering team, you will design, scale, and maintain high-throughput payment APIs processing millions of financial transactions across African corridors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and optimize microservices for real-time payment routing and ledger reconciliation.
  • Build resilient, highly available integrations with mobile money telecom operators (Orange, Airtel, MTN, M-Pesa).
  • Uphold stringent security standards (encryption, tokenization, PCI-DSS compliance).
  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in comprehensive code reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • 4 to 5+ years of demonstrated backend engineering experience (Modern PHP, Go, or Node.js).
  • Deep proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and caching layers (Redis).
  • Mastery of event-driven architectures, message queues (RabbitMQ/Kafka), and RESTful APIs.
  • Extreme rigor regarding idempotency and financial transaction accuracy.
